MSlide for Food Menus uses Google Sheets as its primary content management system.
Every screen within the menu is connected to a unique reference ID. These references allow the platform to determine where content should appear within the live menu experience.
The spreadsheet contains three columns:
| Column | Purpose |
|---|---|
| A | Content Reference ID |
| B | Menu Content |
| C | Comments |
Restaurant staff primarily work within the Menu Content column while the reference IDs remain unchanged.
Each menu item is built from a group of related content references.
Example:
Slide1
Slide1-Title
Slide1-Description
Slide1-PriceThese references represent a complete dish screen inside the menu.
The image associated with the dish is connected to the Slide reference, while the title, description, and price are managed through their respective content rows.
A standard menu item consists of four elements:
Slide5
Slide5-Title
Slide5-Description
Slide5-PriceWhere:
Together these elements create a complete menu item within the live menu.
The menu also contains dedicated introductory and closing screens.
Examples:
Slide0
Slide0-TitleThe introductory screen is typically used for:
The closing screen can be used for:
Most menu updates are performed directly within the content column of the spreadsheet.
Restaurant staff can update dish titles, descriptions, prices, introductory messages, and closing messages by editing the corresponding content values. Once updated, the changes are reflected in the live menu without modifying the menu layout or navigation structure.
Typical updates include:
When editing the spreadsheet, only modify the content values. Content reference IDs should remain unchanged because they connect the spreadsheet to the correct menu screens.
When updating the spreadsheet:
The reference IDs act as the connection between the spreadsheet and the menu system. Modifying these references may prevent content from displaying correctly.
